Janis Roze Publishers is a publishing house with longstanding book publishing traditions and successful entrepreneurship. Janis Roze started publishing books in 1919 and kept on doing that until he was exiled to Siberia. Janis Roze Ltd is one of the rare cultural brands that have been renewed after the independence of Latvia was regained.

Janis Roze Publishers started working anew in 1997 as a structural unit of Janis Roze Ltd. Since 2001it has become a separate enterprise.

The publishing house has always taken pride in good reputation, strict selection criteria and great quality both of content and form. 

Our mission is to offer our readers a good reading material by choosing the best and the most interesting things about various topics that are written both by new and acknowledged Latvian and foreign writers. We are certain that our readers associate our brand with worthy and interesting books.

34-35 books are published a year by Janis Roze Publishers Ltd. Works by Latvian authors, translations of foreign fiction, documental prose, textbooks, juvenile literature, children books, travel books, hobby books, cookbooks etc. are published. The publishing house has a long-term cooperation with the best translators from English, French, Italian, German, Finnish and other languages. We are interested and curious to expand the range of the topics, languages and writers we work with, so that our readers can reveal more and more new horizons. Many of our books have been published with the support of the State Culture Capital Foundation as well as with support of various foreign institutions (Swedish Arts Council, FILI (Finland), and Nordic Council of Ministers’, French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Danish Arts Foundation and Embassy of Israel in Latvia, Ministry of Culture and Tourism (Azerbaijan).

Our quality was repeatedly appreciated. Janis Roze Publishers received a number of prestige awards. In 2008 it received a special prize for our contribution to culture from The German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce and a Literature prize for the best poetry book and the best translation. Books published by Janis Roze Publishers have been featured in Writers’ Prize short list in years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Janis Roze Publishers books were nominated in the contest of book art ZELTA ĀBELE and also won the nomination several times.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

If you’d like your book to be published by Janis Roze Publishers please submit:

• Information about author;
• Short description of a book/project (max 3000 symbols);
• Information about preferable looks of a book (format, type of volume, approximate number of pages, pictures/illustrations);
• Description of the target audience (of a book/project);
• Information about co-financing sources;
• Manuscript: all text for fiction works OR 2-3 chapters for other kinds of works;
• Please add some examples of photos or illustrations if any are planned.
